I thought this was a travelogue for Detroit...

Was there a point to that little vignette?

As someone who has lived in Detroit*, I am absolutely insulted by that comment! Detroit doesn't have any mountains! Mt. Elliot is a street and Mt. Olivet is a cemetery!

Michael,
Do you think there is an untapped market for a modernized lever action shotgun? I'm thinking along the lines of a Mossberg 500 or Rem 870 style action and magazine tube with a lever instead of the forearm pump. I love my 30-30 lever action. I love my pump shotgun. I would love a lever shotgun.

By golly, I've put a LOT of rounds through an 1887 clone 12 gauge (and a few rounds 10 gauge rounds through original 1887s)...they are brutal! But I loved the lever shotguns. I was even thinking of buying an old Winchester 94-410 or one of the new Rossi guns.

I like them, but I suspect I'm in a minority!!!!

Thanks Michael. Glad to see I'm not the only lever nut around here. I'm the one who shows up to a rifle class with the lever gun. For most classes, I do ok with it. To have something slightly different than an 1887 lever shotgun clone would be a dream. Ruger seems to be a tear of innovation, maybe they could see the potential value of it (of course, I keep hopeing Ruger will follow up with a side by side shotgun and a lever action rifle as well to offer a complete line of CAS firearms. If they could work out logistics to get it so that you could get them all with the same serial numbers would be extra cool kinda like the sequential pistols). In my mind, it's kind of like the Tarus Judge. It came out of nowhere and was wildly popular.

Have fun at the show. I'm like a kid waiting for Christmas to see what are the new products.
