Exit Nemo

Sadly, I had to put my favorite goldfish, Nemo, down today. He'd contracted dropsy, a fairly nasty and always fatal infection, probably as a result of being beaten up on my Pooh-Ye, my other huge goldfish.

Sucks, but what can you do? I'd raised him from about 3/4-inch long to more than 8-inches; he'd take food from my hand and spent way too much time watching me.

I am reminded of that quote from Antoine de Saint Exupery of Little Prince fame: "Many have forgotten this truth, but you must not forget it. You remain responsible, forever, for what you have tamed."
